WHAT IS COOPERATION AND ITS PROGRAMS

The Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana participates in networks, programs and collaboration consortiums with the aim of promoting actions with partner institutions such as academic mobility, joint research projects, teaching programs, promotion of educational opportunities, offered by international organizations.

In the international framework, the UAM collaborates in cooperation programs that support joint research projects and teaching programs, with the possibility of accessing financing schemes and scholarships.

    The Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana actively participates in international networks that bring together partner institutions with common objectives that collaborate to promote institutional strengths, the quality of teaching, as well as teacher and student mobility, joint research projects, academic programs, that contribute to the positioning institutional, and to have a greater offer of financing and scholarships.

Associations Networks
Name Description
National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) It is a non-governmental association, which brings together the main higher education institutions in the country, both public and private. It participates with the educational authorities in the formulation of national higher education plans and programs, and promotes the creation of specialized organizations for the improvement of educational quality.

In the context of the internationalization of higher education, it promotes the cooperation of the institutions affiliated with ANUIES with counterparts from other countries, in order to generate or consolidate collaboration programs, as well as the academic exchange of students and professors.
Ibero-American Postgraduate University Association (AUIP) It has associated institutions in 21 Latin American countries. Its main objective is to contribute with high academic quality criteria, to the training of university professors, scientists and professionals at the postgraduate level, as well as academic programs. The AUIP promotes the exchange of professors, researchers and students between the member institutions of the Association.
Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL) International organization created with the purpose of promoting the improvement of the associated universities. It facilitates the exchange of professors, students, researchers and graduates, as well as the exchange of publications, studies and research and teaching materials.

COOPERATION PROGRAMS


    In the international framework, the UAM collaborates in cooperation programs that support joint research projects and teaching programs, with the possibility of accessing financing schemes and scholarships.

ERASMUS+

The European Union (EU) through the Executive Agency in the Educational, Audiovisual and Cultural field (EACEA) developed programs for Higher Education, including the Erasmus Plus program, with three actions that address various topics:

Action 2: Cooperation between organizations and institutions.

HORIZON EUROPE

Horizon Europe is the main funding program of the European Union (EU) in the field of research and innovation. It is one of the main tools to implement the European strategy for international cooperation for the period 2021-2027.

CAROLINA FOUNDATION

Promotes cultural relations and cooperation in educational and scientific matters between Spain and the countries of the Ibero-American Community of Nations and with others with special historical, cultural and geographical ties. The core of the activities is located in the field of training Ibero-American students and teachers through scholarships and grants that cover all areas of knowledge.

MOBILITY PROGRAMS
Name Description
Pacific Alliance The Student and Academic Mobility Platform is a scholarship program of the Pacific Alliance whose purpose is to contribute to the formation of human capital and academic integration in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) Promotes the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students between Mexican universities and 12 Spanish HEIs to take courses from one semester to one school year.
Inter-university Collaboration Office (for its French BCI) International academic exchange program that promotes student mobility between HEIs in Mexico and the Province of Quebec, in Canada.
Educational Mobility Academic Program (PAME-UDUAL) It is an initiative of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL), which aims to promote internationalization and integration among affiliated universities. It allows mobility under the principle of reciprocity.
Latin American Academic Exchange Program (PILA) Promotes the academic, professional and comprehensive training of students and teachers, as well as the internationalization of higher education, and strengthens cooperation ties between Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.
Brazil-Mexico Exchange Program (BRAMEX) Its objective is to promote the exchange of undergraduate or undergraduate students, with recognition of studies, between the Brazilian and Mexican higher education institutions (HEIs) affiliated to the Program.

Cathedra

The international cathedra aim to promote academic cooperation activities and binational or regional scientific dialogue, contributing to the positioning of the university and the recognition of institutional strengths, as well as the quality of the teaching staff.

JOINT GUARDIANSHIP

It is the preparation between two institutions for the co-direction of a doctoral thesis and its subsequent defense, to obtain a degree in both institutions.

The Autonomous Metropolitan University has a cooperation and linkage office in Europe, with the aim of identifying new strategic partners to establish scientific and academic cooperation, in addition to strengthening existing cooperation with European institutions dedicated to higher education, science, innovation and the culture.

The UAM office is housed in the facilities of the Franco-Mexican University House (MUFRAMEX for its acronym in French) in the Rectory of the Federal University of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées in the city of Toulouse, France.
