Presentation

The Office of the Environmental Plan develops and implements actions aimed at strengthening the Sustainability culture from the General Rectory of the Metropolitan Autonomous University, to join the advances that the University Units have achieved through their Sustainability Plans and make the institution recognized as a Sustainable University, so that the University Units continue on the path outlined, that the General Rectory matches the campuses and that the articulation of efforts promotes a state of institutional synergy.

The actions to achieve this are classified into four strategic lines, which are:

Teaching

It is transcendental that the UAM is a pioneer higher education institution in flexible study plans and programs that offer students the opportunity to guide, choose and take responsibility for their academic career, in addition to sowing the seed of a sustainable awareness in the activities professionals of the graduates, while promoting a comprehensive vision that combines environmental, economic and social issues that consider the impact that their profession has on the environment.

Research

The planning, development, and execution of multi, inter, and transdisciplinary research projects with a sustainable approach must transcend the spheres of the university structure (department, division, unit), in order to train high-level human resources that have an impact on the solution. of local and regional problems of the social, economic and environmental pillars.

College extension

It is the commitment of the General Rectory of the UAM to promote activities of connection with the different social sectors, oriented towards sustainability, that support the initiatives of the community and that cultivate the interest of local, national and international external instances. Likewise, promote the participation of the institution in networks of higher education entities for projects and events of extension and dissemination linked to sustainability.

Campus management

It is essential to focus campus management towards the development and improvement of projects that involve all university actors, linking them and inviting them to efficiently manage and conserve resources, enhancing their participation in order to convert daily actions into sustainable activities, so that transcend and impact the various sectors of society.
