Promote the creation and development of activities that promote dialogue between the University and the different social actors that result in care and services. As well as assisting the university community and other sectors in proposals and strategies that contribute to strengthening the Social Responsibility of the UAM and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Social Service is understood to be the set of activities carried out by students or graduates of the University for the benefit of society and the State, in order to contribute to the economic, political, social and cultural development of our country. Carrying out social service is mandatory and must be carried out as a prerequisite to obtain a bachelor's degree.
The legislation of the Metropolitan Autonomous University establishes that the duration of the social service will be 480 hours, in a period of no less than six months and no more than 2 years. The social service office is in charge of carrying out all the administrative procedures so that you can prove your social service.
Promote in students or graduates the development of an awareness of social responsibility.
Promote in students or graduates reflective, critical and constructive attitudes towards social problems.
Contribute to the comprehensive education and professional training of students or graduates.
Promote and stimulate the active participation of students or graduates, so that they have the opportunity to apply, verify and evaluate the knowledge acquired.
Enrich the different sectors with which it is linked, through the dissemination of accumulated experiences and knowledge.
The UAM, through its Social Service Regulations, establishes that:
For the presentation of the social service, the students or graduates of the Institution will be subject to the plans, programs and projects approved by the corresponding collegiate bodies. The plans, programs and projects offered are classified as:
External: correspond to popular organizations, civil associations, public sector agencies or institutions, urban or rural communities, among others.
Internal: correspond to the projects developed by the UAM.
